Lance Armstrong Is Considering Admitting He Doped - Business ...

Lance Armstrong is considering admitting to doping, Juliet Macur at The New York Times reports.

He has told "associates and antidoping officials that he is considering publicly admitting that he used banned performance-enhancing drugs and blood transfusions during his cycling career," says Macur.

Armstrong is hoping that by admitting to his guilt he'll be allowed to compete in events governed by the World Anti-Doping agency again.

Armstrong was stripped of his seven Tour De France titles and banned from competitive racing after he decided to quit fighting doping charges from the US Anti-Doping Agency last August. He also lost his lucrative sponsorship deal with Nike.

Admitting guilt is not as simple as it might seem. Because Armstrong was a member of a team sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service confessing to doping could get him in serious legal trouble. He and his teammates could be charged with defrauding the government.

Also, Armstrong has been very aggressive in attacking anyone who ever accused him of doping. We're not sure how he would live that down.
